- Develop and maintain ultra-low-latency trading systems that operate at speeds beyond standard trading environments.
- Optimize exchange connectivity and infrastructure to achieve maximum reliability and minimal latency.
- Design and implement monitoring and analytics frameworks to track trading performance, system health, and uptime across global markets.
- Continuously refine and improve systems to stay ahead of rapidly evolving market conditions.
- Push the limits of performance, latency, and integration, helping us maintain a clear technological and executional edge.
- Contribute to a culture of innovation and excellence, where precision, speed, and reliability define success.
Requirements
- Degree in a quantitative field (computer science, engineering, mathematics or similar)
- Strong programming skills, knowledgeable about low-level programming concepts
- Experience (professional or through personal projects) building or contributing to complex or high-performance systems in a language like C++, Rust, Java or similar
- Python and SQL knowledge are a plus
- Interest in financial markets and/or crypto is a plus
Qualifications
- You’re driven by performance and real tangible results
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about solving hard technical problems.
- Adaptable and eager to learn — you thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

At Kairon Labs, we are continuously looking to connect with exceptional talent. The expertise required for some of our most impactful roles is rare, and we recognise that finding the right person can take time.
This is not a traditional vacancy with a fixed hiring timeline. Instead, we maintain an ongoing search for outstanding engineers whose skills and experience align with the challenges we solve every day. If your background matches the level of specialization we seek, we would be pleased to hear from you!
As a Senior Low-Latency Infrastructure Engineer, you will optimise and evolve the infrastructure powering our electronic trading systems. You will focus on reducing end-to-end latency across networking, operating systems, hardware, and application runtime environments.
Working closely with traders and software engineers, you will identify bottlenecks, design performance improvements, and implement technologies that deliver deterministic low-latency execution.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy and optimise ultra-low-latency infrastructure.
- Drive performance tuning across CPU scheduling, memory allocation, interrupt handling, cache locality and network stack configuration.
- Implement and maintain kernel-bypass networking technologies including DPDK, OpenOnload, RDMA and hardware offload solutions where appropriate.
- Analyse packet paths and application behaviour to minimise jitter and latency.
- Develop performance benchmarking frameworks and latency measurement tooling.
- Work directly with network hardware, NIC firmware, CPU power management and server platform optimisation.
- Build observability systems focused on microsecond-level latency analysis and production performance monitoring.
- Evaluate new hardware and networking technologies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in low-latency Linux engineering, performance engineering, HFT infrastructure or systems programming.
- Deep understanding of Linux kernel internals.
- Experience with kernel-bypass technologies such as DPDK, OpenOnload or equivalent.
- Experience implementing PTP/PPS-based time synchronisation and hardware timestamping.
- Strong C++, or Rust skills.
- Ability to diagnose latency issues across the entire stack, from hardware and operating system layers through to application behaviour.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within HFT trading, market making, exchange technology, or low-latency fintech environments.
- Experience with multicast market data distribution and exchange connectivity.
- Familiarity with FPGA-accelerated networking or hardware acceleration technologies.
- Understanding of exchange protocols and trading infrastructure.
- Experience supporting production trading environments with strict latency requirements.
